Why I Love Landscape Photography
I've always been drawn to the great outdoors. Growing up near the coast, surrounded by mountains and a fjord, I fell in love with nature early on. My childhood and youth was filled with hiking, skiing, snowboarding, bike riding, skateboarding and camping—activities that provided me with peace and freedom.
In 2007, I bought my first DSLR camera to capture my love for surfing. As I began taking photos, I discovered a new passion: landscape photography. Every photo became an adventure and a way to express . Photography became another medium through which I could channel my creativity.
I take my camera everywhere—whether I'm working at sea, on a road trip, camping, or surfing. Capturing the beauty of nature and preserving those moments forever brings me a lot of happines.
Photography has become more than just a hobby; it's a way for me to connect with the world, find peace of mind, and practice mindfulness. Whether hiking or simply observing my surroundings, I find a sense of calm that helps me escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.
What I love most about landscape photography is the challenge. It combines creativity, technical skills, and an understanding of light and compositio. And when I come home and upload my photos, I get to relive my adventures and the memories I’ve made.
Having an online presence has allowed me to share my photos and connect with others who share my passion. This wasn't always easy for me. Overcoming social anxiety to share my work online was a significant challenge, but it was also incredibly rewarding. I enjoy interacting with other photography lovers on social media and seeing their perspectives on the world. This exchange of creativity and inspiration has been incredibly fulfilling.
So, I keep taking photos wherever I go, whether on a road trip, camping, or hiking. I love the creative and technical challenges and the calm it brings me. Sharing my photos with others and seeing their work inspires me. Landscape and outdoor photography will always be a significant part of my life and adventures, and I hope my journey can inspire others to see the beauty in everyday moments and find their own creative outlets, no matter the challenges they face
